"This event is important to us because it draws people to the neighborhood who might not have known much about the community before," said Cassie Norris, manager of Prudential Network Realty's Avondale office.
Norris supported the event as co-chair of the 2007 RAP Tour of Homes, which attracted nearly 2,000 people. Many of the attendees purchased tickets from the Prudential Network Realty office and attended some of the company's several open-house events staged throughout the neighborhood. The Prudential Network Realty sales professionals who opened homes during the event received positive responses from guests - many of whom had questions about living in a historic home.
Liz Bobeck, a real estate professional with the Avondale office, participated in the tour as a "house captain." Bobeck organized volunteers for the event and helped ensure the tour unfolded smoothly.
"We received some very positive feedback from guests who attended the tour," Bobeck said. "It was a successful undertaking for all of us from Prudential who participated at the different levels."

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Prudential Network Realty’s Avondale office hosted more than 50 area Realtors at its first annual Autumn Open House to thank local real estate professionals for their support.“This was a fun way for us to thank the agents with whom we’ve worked over the years – and talk about things other than business,” said Cassie Norris, manager of Prudential Network Realty’s Avondale office. “We were elated to have such a great turnout and to have the opportunity to express our sincere thanks.”
The event, which included elegant hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, was so successful that Norris expects to make the gathering an annual event. In addition to expressing appreciation to local Realtors, Prudential Network Realty’s Avondale office also showed its gratitude to the community of Avondale – a historic neighborhood near Downtown that is anchored by The Shops of Avondale. Prudential Network Realty sponsored the Shops of Avondale Merchant’s Association’s Christmas tree. "Prudential Network Realty has been marketing homes in these exquisite neighborhoods for more than 17 years," said Linda H. Sherrer, founder, president and CEO of Prudential Network Realty. "In that time we have assembled a dedicated and sophisticated team of agents that is intimately familiar with historic preservation and period homes. We see this division as a marvelous opportunity to showcase our city's remarkable architectural treasures."
Areas of focus for the new division will be historically designated neighborhoods: Avondale, Riverside, Springfield, Ortega, San Marco and San Jose. Homes marketed by this division were built 70 years ago or more and include some residences on the National Historic Register.
There are many uncommon and often technical issues associated with the buying and marketing of historic homes. Affiliation with these area specialists allows the division to offer its clients a team of highly regarded experts that is ready to address any question that may come up in the marketing process.
The company's commitment to some of Jacksonville's most venerable and mature homes also will be demonstrated in a financial sense. To show support for and appreciation of the historic neighborhoods, the Historic Division will make a donation to an historic preservation organization of the seller's choice upon the closing of each Division listing.
